This is literally my day-to-day trade journal with automated data from Google Finance. I built these tools to make things more organized after I've done a lot of the heavy lifting. It also has features built to provide clearer perspective over the long and short terms.

A ton of research happens to pick instruments. These are the "Glengarry Leads"... basically the companies I believe are positioned in a can't miss sector while also a better buy than their competition.

Then I look at price charts and financial data. By the time a symbol makes it to the spreadsheet, much of my strategy is:

1) Hold the Actives until there is a legitimate reason a business may plateau or face setbacks

2) Ignore opportunities with tons of drama, even if there's "opportunity." My peace is valuable and I want companies that make tons of money quietly - and without controversy/people getting sued etc.

3) If taking profit or dumping an active position, I look to buy a dip from the "Top Buys for Today" section in purple. I think of that section as my "first off the bench." It's a mix of my actives AND watchlist - the companies I think are awesome and at a decent entry price.

4) Refine the purple 'Top Buys For Today" section every day.
